QPR BEAT SPURS
Jose Bosingwa’s club, Queens Park Rangers, has been defeated by Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League match at White Hart Lane on Sunday. That was a close game and both the teams fought hard, but, the Tottenham boys put a bit of extra effort in the second half and managed to pull off a victory.
The Tottenham team was playing on its home ground and more than 35,000 supporters were right behind the team. It was an electrifying environment out there in the stadium and all those people present in the stadium saw a display of high quality football.
Clint Dempsey was given the opportunity to start the match for the first time for Tottenham. In the first half, the Tottenham players didn’t look in good nick at all. They were a missing a lot of passes and there was a lack of coordination between them.
It was QPR which got ahead in the game in the 33rd minute with the goal of Bobby Zamora. It was wonderful work by Alejandro Faurlin. He got the ball just near the penalty box and he beat one of the QPR Defenders to pass the ball to a charging Zamora who had no problems whatsoever in flicking the ball past the Tottenham goalkeeper. The Tottenham team wasn’t able to equalise the scores in the remaining time of the first half.
In the second half, the Tottenham players were much aggressive in their approach. The scores were levelled in the 56th minute when Faurlin deflected Sandro’s header into his own net. The QPR team seemed to get a bit demoralized with that own goal.
Tottenham took a lead of 2-1 in the 61st minute. It was a terrific team effort. Veronghen made his way through the midfield and then, passed the ball to Bale who gave a perfect cross to Jermain Defoe. The English striker finished the goal with an angled shot. That was the last goal to be scored in the match. Tottenham maintained its lead till the end and won the match. QPR will now play against Reading on 26th of September at the Loftus Road Stadium.
