Trabzonspor will look to hit Legia on the break
Turkish club Trabzonspor has had a fine start to their season in Europe, sitting pretty at the top of the UEFA Europa League table with seven points from their opening three matches as they travel to Warsaw to take on Legia Warszawa, knowing full well that a win would put them in pole position to secure qualification into the next round of the competition.
But that doesn’t mean they can take their Polish opponents from granted with their record against Polish sides not being that great. The Turkish side boasts of a record of two wins and three losses in their last five encounters against Polish sides with both of those wins coming at home and two of their three losses coming in Poland.
But they will also know the kind of situation Legia are currently in right now, having failed to chalk up a point on the board and indeed score a goal, being the only side in the competition to not score a single goal after three matches. And that is something Trabzonspor will definitely look to exploit, with the Polish side keen to get off the mark.
Legia will have to go all out in attack from the very start and the talents that the Turkish side boasts of, they can easily sit back and absorb that pressure before going out and hitting their opponents on the break, trying to catch them exposed in a counter attack.
Trabzonspor have not tasted defeat in their eleven European encounters so far and although they are making their debut in the competition this season, they have played in the UEFA Champions League before and that experience will definitely hold them in good stead as they look to make short work of the Polish side and ensure their own qualification to the next round.
