Bosingwa in Turkey
Former Portugal international defender Jose Bosingwa is set to become the second former Chelsea player to sign for Turkish giants Trabzonspor with reports emerging from Turkey stating that the Queens Park Rangers is in the country to finalize his move from Queens Park Rangers.
The former FC Porto defender endured a torrid time at London club Queens Park Rangers last time and with the Turkish club which will be playing in Europe next terms offering him an escape route when there were no takers for his signature, decided to jump ship at the first opportunity.
The 30 year old former Portugal international right back has a vast experience of European football, having won the UEFA Champions League twice, first with FC Porto and then again with Chelsea and will link up with another former Chelsea man and European Cup winner in Florent Malouda, who was unveiled recently by the club after snapping him up on a free transfer.
Jose Bosingwa will be looking to start afresh after his horrid spell in London where he endured his first relegation and also courted controversy after refusing to come on as a substitute in a match under Harry Redknapp.
Although the financial details of the deal have not been released, it is being believed QPR will pocket a handsome fee for a player they had been looking to offload for quite some time but couldn’t find any suitor for his signature.
Trabzonspor has been six times winners of the Turkish league but finished ninth in the league last terms, although they did play in the Turkish Cup final, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League and are building a string side to compete in Europe with the signings of Malouda and Jose Bosingwa set to be a couple of big names signings for the club.
